IT'S NORMAL FOR A FEMINIST TO STRUGGLE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A PATRIARCHAL MAN

I agree that women who refuse to play the traditional gender roles assigned to females will struggle to make it work with a man who subscribes to traditional gender roles. That's a truth everybody knows.

I know that.
Feminists know that.
Those men know that.

"I'll give in to tradition, but only at home because I need to be in a couple."

The whole point of the movement is to demystify the whole idea that a woman needs to be part of a couple to be fulfilled.

Feminism is a test on how much you love yourself and on how you much you are ready to stick to your standards especially when you know that settling for less will force you to make sacrifices that you shouldn't be making.

The traditional woman per se is overrated. She has nothing and is nothing. Forget that rubbish about how she's the pillar of the house, how she's behind the success of her husband, and how she's there to offer him advice and counsel.

She's the pillar of the house because traditional men do not do their parts at home besides paying the bills - that is if they even do that.

Traditional men USE women to achieve success. She's not a vessel. She's a tool.

Traditional men do not give a crap about getting advice from women. Why would you take advice from someone whom you think is not as smart and emotionally/mentally equipped like you?

When a woman refuses traditional roles, she's challenging the men to step up.

"You have to have more than a penis and money to get with me."

And when a man refuses traditional roles, he does the same with women.

"You have to have more than a vagina and two hands to get with me."

If they can't step up, it's their loss.

However if marriage means more than your standards to you, fine, go for it. But stop trying to justify the whole thing. Or making women who have refused to settle look bad.

Because the only thing I get from this whole message is that men are sad that they can no longer be just men. Because being a person, a decent person, is too demanding.

And of course it had to be a black woman that says this crap because you know, "black women are too unruly and difficult, and I'm here to change prove that some of us are not like that".

Fuck off, Fantasia.
