In season 5, episode 20, of The Big Bang Theory, Raj is set up with a lady called Lakshmi.
The moment Raj sees Lakshmi, he is immediately infatuated with her, not knowing that she had other plans.
Raj's sexuality has been an object of jokes from both his friends and also the writers of the show. Even though Raj describes himself as a metrosexual because of his particular attention to his looks - to the extent a nerd can aspire - he often leaves the viewers and his friends wondering if he is not truly gay due to some of the things he says and does.
Lakshmi's plans for her date with Raj were based on her assumption that Raj was gay. Lakshmi was a gay woman who was looking for a gay man to marry; and based on the idea that she had of Raj, she thought that she had finally sorted things out.
However, Raj is not gay, so her plans didn't fall through.
What if Raj had been gay?
I believe that it would have been a perfect plan. True, the show is set in the USA, but both Raj and Lakshmi are Indians and India happens to be a very conservative society. Even though at some point, Raj's parent had suspected that their son might be gay and even showed signs of acceptance for his sexual orientation, their obsession with fixing him up with a woman proved that at the end of the day, they preferred their son to be straight.
In Nigeria, where the society is perhaps even more closed minded than in India, I believe this kind of arrangement would be perfect until we are able to decriminalise homosexuality and homosexual unions.
Right now there are many gay men and women who are married to straight spouses and all the parties involved in these marriages are living a personal hell.
A gay man can still manage to have some relief from time to time thanks to the leniency with which we handle male infidelity, but a gay woman married to a straight man does not have that kind of relief.
What do we also say about the man who literally has to beg his wife to sleep with him? What about the woman who gets to have sex with her husband only when they want to have children?
Gay men who marry women are repulsed by their wives. I know some of you will find it hard to believe because women are so beautiful, the pussy is so warm and the breasts are so soft; but that's the truth.
The same way some of you would never fuck with someone of the same sex, that's how gay people do not want to fuck with someone of the opposite sex.

If a straight spouse decides to blow his or her gay spouse's cover and he or she is arrested for homosexuality, I won't bat an eye. I won't support their arrest because I support the criminalisation of homosexuality, I will support the arrest because that person is an asshole; and sometimes, assholery deserves to be treated as a crime.
You are free to be gay, but your spouse deserves to be gay: after all, he or she is just as good as you.
