FEMALE MASTURBATION

Today nor be Sunday na...

1. Do you masturbate?
Know yourself, so others can know you better.

2. Do you climax every time you masturbate?
Sounds awkward but even though I started masturbating when I was very young, I didn't experience my first orgasm until I was 17.

3. Does it take you an awful lot of time to climax when you masturbate?
It shouldn't. If it does it means your mind is not clear and relaxed. Listen, nobody is watching you. Not your village witches, your dead relatives, your judgemental mother and aunts or even God. It's just you and yourself. Take your clothes off, pinch your nipples, squeeze your buttocks, spread your legs wide open. Fondle your breasts and moan. Put on loud music and moan.

4. Rubbing your clit is not enough?
Use anything with the shape of a phallus and avoid breakable objects like bananas.

5. Were you the cruel victim of FGM?
I got good news for you. Just a little away from the entrance of your vagina, there is a spot at the top that when touched, gives you an intense sensation. It makes you feel like you want to pee but you don't really want to. It's called the g-spot.

How to stimulate your g-spot.

A. If you are using your fingers, don't go back and forth like a man would do with his penis. Insert your fingers with your palm facing up, keep your hand still and simply move the tips of your fingers like you were asking someone to come over while applying pressure on the spot.

B. If you are using an object, still don't thrust. But keep it still and rotate it. The only thing you have to focus on is the pressure of the object against your spot.

Note.

For ladies who have their clit intact, you can do this while stimulating your clitoris.

Other notes.

Do you know that your anus contains nerves that are connected with your genitalia? An anal stimulation during masturbation can fasten and intensify your orgasms.

Now let me go and eat. I'm not feeling fine.

CHYKERS, MONEY AND PRESENTS

People rarely do nothing for nothing, so it doesn't come as a surprise to me when men and women expect their love interest to "off pant" the moment they have spent some of their hard earned money, or not, on him or her.

There is a general notion that everybody has a price and that once you have accepted the pay, you have to deliver the goods.

As a child, I learned pretty quick that money is a powerful instrument of control and that who has the money often dictates the tune.

As a teenager I used to get weekly pocket money from my parents. With that money I bought my magazines and mangas. But whenever my parents were upset or annoyed with me, that money would stop. It came to a point when I stopped getting anything altogether. It was really frustrating not being able to afford the little things I wanted. This experience taught me the importance of being financially independent and most importantly, of not allowing anybody to control me with money.

I do not accept presents from every man who shows interest in me. I do not want to create expectations when there is nothing in for him. The only time I accept a present from a man is when I know I will reciprocate in future because I am also interested in him.

Back then in Italy, a lady said I was stupid for not taking advantage of a chyker who was more than willing to spend on me. I personally thought that the lady was the stupid one if at her age, she still hadn't understood how the logic of those men work.

If a Nigerian man offers you money and you accept, you have automatically entered a contract with him. The only way to exit this contract is either by offering him money of equal value or by sleeping with him. When he doesn't get any of this, he becomes livid. Trust me, there is nothing worse than a livid man. He can be horrible, and this is not the kind of trouble you want for yourself.

Back in 2009, I had a chyker. I didn't like him and I was very frank with him. He is Nigerian and had grown up in Nigeria. On a particular day, he accompanied me to buy a present for a friend who was celebrating her birthday. At the store he urged me to pick something for myself too and told me that he would pay. I refused. I didn't want anything from him because I didn't want him to believe that I had something to give back to him. Subsequently he went on and bought me a necklace. At that point I thought I was clear about the fact that I didn't like him and that he had understood that there was nothing to gain from that gesture, so I accepted the necklace. BIG MISTAKE.

Upon all my continuous rejection, he still wanted something in return and the only thing he wanted was a relationship with me or at least sex. He didn't get any, and of course, he became livid. When we stopped being friends, I wanted to return the necklace back to him or give it away, but a friend told me I shouldn't do it. ANOTHER MISTAKE. I should have returned the damn necklace.

There is nothing worse than hearing a man say : "After everything I did for you...". In this case he didn't say it because he had not done much (I didn't give him the chance) but his actions suggested that he suffered a loss and wanted me to pay for it.

This experience taught me another valuable lesson: never keep a chyker as a friend. If a man asks you out and you are not interested, let him know and keep your distance from him. Accepting presents from him or being friendly with him will only fuel his expectations towards you.

So when that woman called me stupid for not "using" a chyker, I knew exactly where I was coming from. I didn't want my name to be involved in that kind of mess again.

Also, when a man uses his money as a bait, he is often lacking in personality and when he can't get to you with his money, then he is forced to get to you with his personality, if he has any.

Money shields a lot of bad character. Do not let it fool you.
Make your own money, so that it will no longer be a top factor in your choice of a partner.
When you don't focus on how much a man has and how much he is willing to spend, your standards automatically grow higher.

"Make money, don't let money make you" (The Playa's Club).

LINDA IKEJI IS NOT A HYPOCRITE

Written 28/05/2018

Nigerians are angry that Linda is pregnant.

Some are angry because the pregnancy occurred outside marriage and honestly, I'm not bothered with these lots. They are just a bunch of fools. Men ,who hate to see women who are not "under a man", and women, who believe marriage validates their existence, are not the type of human beings to whom I like to waste my time to explain things.

But for those who are angry because Linda had preached celibacy in the past, I will spare a few minutes to explain why you can't call Linda a hypocrite.

The original quote goes as follows: "I preached celibacy to young girls because I feel that’s the right way to live until you meet someone very special that you love and who loves you and wants to be in a committed relationship with you. Passing body around and having multiple partners is not the way and I stand by it.

“And I’ve lived by it. But then I turned 36 and I knew there was nothing else I wanted more than to be a mum & wife and celibacy wasn’t going to get me that! I even did a video talking about how much I wanted these two things and God has finally answered my prayers. Beyond blessed."

In my opinion, her message was valid, honest and for a specific group of women.

We all know how majority of Nigerian women like to accuse men of using them and dumping them whenever a relationship goes sour. Nigerian women expect every sexual encounter to turn into a relationship which will eventually end in marriage. Even those who are dating married men or men who are officially involved with another woman, still hope that these men will change their mind someday and decide to make an "honest" woman out of them.

Linda's message was for this group of women: women who want something stable and possibly permanent. She also made it clear that you could break your celibacy once you had found that special someone.

I do not agree with her opinion on being sexually active and having multiple sexual partners. I believe that, as long as you are not cheating, stringing anybody along or practising unsafe sex, you can sleep with as many people as you want. Your vagina won't slack and your penis won't shrink. But, I suppose, that in our society, sexuality is still not something that is well seen when it's being expressed by a woman. That is their problem, though, not mine and not that of any woman who wants to be sexually adventurous and have as many orgasms as she can before she decides it's time to settle down: that is if she wishes.

Linda was celibate until last year, then she realised that time was also passing by. So she decided to put an end to her celibacy and go for what she had always wanted and I see nothing wrong in that. I read somewhere that she was scared of menopause. Silly people. Having a child in your 20s or 30s is a lot different from having a child in your 40s. I think at 40, most people want to be doing other things rather than changing diapers and doing school runs. Human beings age and get tired. There are a lot of men, as well, who don't want to hear anything kids once they clock 40. So it's not just a woman's thing alone.

Linda is currently engaged and pregnant. There are speculations that she could also be married traditionally. Her family, friends and staff members hid something as obvious as a pregnancy for 6 months, so a traditional wedding wouldn't be far-fetched.

If you are like Linda, you want to get married and have children, and you do not want to waste your time with meaningless sex and relationships, you can follow her advice and lock up until you find the person whom you think might be the one.

I believe a lot of people, likewise me, are honestly tired of reading posts by Nigerian women on how a one night stand did not become the love of their life.

I didn't take Linda's advice. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know she had said something like that until the news of her pregnancy broke out. And even if I had known, I still wouldn't have given it much importance because I do not belong to the group of women whom she was addressing.

But if you belong to that group, be smart and emulate this young woman. She knew what she was doing all along: when love wasn't coming forth, she explored past options. I would say, if you don't have any past options either, get your ass up and go and look for love. There is nothing wrong or desperate in knowing what you want and going for it.

Fuck what society says.

So, my dear women, if you are still shouting about how Linda is a hypocrite and should have announced to the world that she was no longer celibate, then you are just silly.

Besides, why would a grown up woman look up to another woman (or man) who doesn't even know of her existence to live her life and make her decisions? It's not that Linda's advice impacted Nigeria's disastrous politics and economy. In fact we are still poor and hopeless, while she is stinking rich and living her dream.

So please, stop being a pathetic whiner. Linda doesn't care about you. Stop caring about Linda.

GIVERS DON'T LOSE, RECEIVERS DO

I always encourage people to give if they are in the position to do so. It makes a happier world and also makes you feel good about yourself.

Come on, it doesn't hurt to derive some personal gratification from being nice. 😉

But assholes will always abound. I do think there are more assholes than mouthholes (the ones without mouth odour) in the world. I for starter, I'm a bit of an asshole.

I can be nice but I can also be mean. I work on extremes. I struggle to be in the middle. Being in the middle sucks.

So, there are assholes and they are many. And what do assholes do? They suck balls. They throw your niceness back to your face after using it to wipe their butthole (note how I used butthole instead of asshole because, you know, it's kind of weird to say that an asshole has an asshole. Like, is it a hole inside another hole? You know what? Who cares?).

These suckers are such douchebags that they can suck whatever love you have for humanity out of your heart, figuratively. Yep, meet an asshole and you could go from being an adorable humanitarian to being a cynical mistanthrope.

But one question puzzles me: who loses more between a generous heart, figuratively, and an asshole? As a matter of fact, who simplly loses?

Most assholes don't have things of their own which is why they suck up to other people in the first place. Believe it or not, assholes are not as intelligent as you think that they might be. You would think one has to be extremely smart to convince to part ways with your money, your time  and even your emotions. They are cunning, sure, but they are also short sighted, figuratively. They are always so focused on the present that they rarely think about the future. It's all about what they can get NOW.

You would say "For this person to have fucked me so hard in the ass, they certainly do not need me anymore and have something or someone to rely on". Well, maybe yes, maybe no. They might not need YOU, but they still need someone. One thing about assholes, is that they never reach a state of  total autonomy. They are what we call parasites and, as such, they are constantly in search of a new host.

One thing you must know about parasites, is that they take control of your being and manipulate you into thinking that you are the one who needs them and not the other way round, which is why you feel like you have lost out when they walk out of your life. But think about this: did you really lose?

Parasites need their hosts to survive because parasites can't survive on their own. They do not have the means to do so.

You, the host, instead, are just fine on your own and you will feel even better when a parasite finally decides to leave you. Or you can chase them out yourself. Trust me. Saves you time, money and emotions.

"I LOST EVERYTHING TO A PARASITE." 😭

That sucks bro/sis. But look at it this way: the parasite is probably as broke as you are, not broken, because they don't give a fuck, but broke. I suppose. But they could have found another host, so...

You know what? Don't just give a chance to an asshole.
I'm just a Facebook feminist who likes to make noise on social media. And for all you know, I could be a parasite myself.

*whispers*
Everyone pretends here.
Everyone.

YOUR SUCCESS IS OUTSIDE THE CHURCH

A woman in her 40s has decided to quit her marriage that spanned over a decade. According to her, she doesn't love her husband and has never loved him. She got married to him because everybody else was getting married. Since they are both workers in the church, the pastors have been trying to settle the matter.

My question is: what are they trying to settle? The woman said she doesn't love the man. If she never loved him in all these years, na now she go start to dey love am?

Two years ago another member tried to commit suicide after his wife left him. The woman had attempted to leave many times. These same pastors also tried to settle their matter.

There is a married couple going through domestic violence. The woman attacks the man every time they are having an argument. The same pastors are still settling their matter.

A man travelled to Nigeria, squandered the money his wife gave him for business, gave the clothes she had bought for her family to his family, cheated on her and saved the pictures he took with the other woman on his computer. The same pastors settled the matter.

A young girl got married after getting pregnant and became the favourite target of her sister in law. The same pastor came to settle the matter. Ah! He implied that he would never allow his daughter to get married to that kind of man or into that kind of family.

A young member, frustrated by her incapability to have the kind of life she wants, made the infamous comment: "It seems the pastors' family (children and in-laws) are the only ones progressing in this church."

😂😂 Except that it's not true.

There are (ex)members who are doing (very) fine in life and they are the ones who have never given the pastors more relevance than they deserve.

Instead, those who live as if their tongues have been glued to the pastors' asses have been witnessing stagnation in almost ever aspect their lives. Even when they progress, their progress is mediocre at best.

This is not peculiar to these pastors alone. It is peculiar to every pastor.

I hardly hear pastors give sensible advice to people. The masses are fooled by their ability to quote the Bible by heart. They look charming and knowledgeable at the pulpit. The altar that is physically elevated from the church floor has become synonymous with their spiritual and intellectual elevation.

Such a pity that almost everything about these churches is staged. It's all an act. A charade. A parade of wealth and wisdom that are actually non-existent. You make your pastors rich. You think your pastors know.

Your pastors don't know shit.

That pastor of yours is not so different from the average man and woman wandering the streets of Nigeria, looking for ideas to succeed and escape the poverty that has been afflicting his or her family for generations.

Your pastor needs money and the only way to get more money from an impoverished population, is to increase the number of members. The advice your pastor gives you is never for your own good but for the good of their business.

Divorced couples don't go to the same church, so they always advise married couples to remain married and multiply inside the church.

They also courage single members to get married to another member of the church and multiply inside the church.

Churches are like plantations and the congregation is the unpaid workforce. These pastors don't beat you, torture you or kill you. They simply threaten you with poverty and hell fire if you don't follow their instructions.

Pastors are the Massas of the new century.
Religion is modern day slavery.

Be smart.

NOLLYWOOD ENEMIES OF PROGRESS AND POVERTY TESTS

- Girl grew up with silver spoon.
- Girl has maids that cook for her and do her laundry.
- Girl drives fancy cars and wears expensive clothes and accessories.
- Girl studied at a top university and has travelled to the most exotic places in the world.
- Girl is rich and happy.

Then there comes a poor/average man.

- Poor man falls in love with rich girl.
- Rich girl likes poor man because he is handsome and charming (you can't be poor and ugly. Pick a struggle).
- Poor man wants to marry rich girl but can't afford the kind of life she is used to.

The sensible thing to do would be for the poor man to back down or allow the rich girl to use her own money to set up a rich lifestyle for the both of them.

But that's not how it works in Nollywood. In Nollywood, a woman is only as rich as the man she chooses to marry and that's how rich girls becomes a pauper after living a life of opulence.

- Poor man complains that rich girl can't cook.
- Poor man complains that rich girl can't clean.
- Poor man complains that rich girl can't wash his clothes.
- Poor man starts maltreating rich girl.
- Rich girl wants to stay married.

Because no matter how rich and educated you are as a woman, you are nothing if you are not married.

- Rich girl starts asking her maids for cooking tutorials,
- Rich girl starts going to the market.
- Rich girl starts washing clothes.
- Rich girl starts dressing like a tomato seller and rocking braids.

By the end of the movie, rich girl has become accustomed to a poor/average lifestyle, but she is now a complete woman because she can cook, clean and do laundry.

At this point, God blesses the poor man who earns millions and becomes a rich man.

The End.

-------------------------------------

You see, eh, God will punish the man that will try this rubbish with me. In fact thunder will strike his eyes and make him blind, so that he won't see me when I walk past him.

There are many curses walking about in the body of men and women who just want to come into your life and run you down.

People ought to know their class and stick with it. If you are a man who thinks your wife is only as rich as you are, then you are a witch and deserve the thunder of Sango and Ogun at the centre of your head.

Why is poverty used to test women? Why do people think there is virtue in poverty? I see stupid pictures flying about of dirty dishes and clothes, with the caption "If you go to his house and see this, will you wash it?". What sort of rubbish is that?

Nobody should use poverty to test me. I WILL FAIL.
If you plan to come into my life to deprive me of my comfort since you cannot afford it, please, miss me and forget me.

I am not going lower than this. I aim to go higher.

So Mr Enemy Of Progress, do not come near me and do not love me. I nor want your poor man's love.

Who you and your love that reeks of poverty epp?

JUST BECAUSE I AM NICE TO YOU DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU

My kindness has always been misunderstood for romantic interest by men.

Back in 2009, some ex thought because I used to joke around with him, listen to his relationship problems and offer advice, that I was in love with him. It's even sillier than people believed him. Ridiculous.

In that same 2009, some other guy who had told me he was interested in me and whom I had explicitly told I wasn't interested in, somehow mistook my niceness for a future possibility. I made it clear that we were just friends but he would tell people that we were getting to know each other. Again, ridiculous.

In 2014, I moved into my second apartment. There lived a Jamaican British guy who, because I was nice to him, offered him some food when I cooked and brought him chicken from work, one day, mistakenly left his dick hanging out of his boxers thinking I was going to jump on it. Even more ridiculous.

You know what? I used to get angry back then but, now, I just feel sad for these men and for any person out there who thinks that people of the opposite sex are only nice to them just because the former wants to sleep with them.

Besides the presumption of these silly lots, there is also an underlying issue of distrust in humanity. When I come across people of this kind, all I can think of is that they have never been genuinely loved or liked in their entire life.

Perhaps their entire existence has been marked by people taking advantage of them or by their taking advantage of other people. But one thing I know is that these people are broken and most times, are not genuine even in their own intentions.

People who think you have ulterior motives for being nice to them, also expect something in return for their own acts of kindness. Yes, they are entitled. It is the classic case of projecting our flaw on other people because we tend to see people through the perception we have of ourselves.

A liar will think everybody else is a liar.
A thief will think everybody else is a thief.
A cheat will think everybody else is a cheat.
An entitled person will think everybody else is entitled.

I am sure you all know about Mr Nice Guy: that guy who thinks he is entitled to sex because he is nice to girl. Well, should a girl act nice towards that kind of guy, he would still think it's because the girl wants sex from him.

I hardly nurture feelings of distrust or bias against other people because the opinion I have of myself is that of a trustworthy and objective person.

However, experiences are here to teach us, and today, I have learned to be more careful about how nice I act towards people. I'm not just talking about the lack of gratitude I have experienced: why should they be grateful when they think you are going to demand for a settlement in future? I am also talking about how they try to corrupt other people's perception of you. They don't trust you, so other people shouldn't trust you too.

They are indeed a sad bunch who, unfortunately, end up depriving themselves of the very selfless love that could help them become less sad.

THE RIDICULOUSNESS OF FEMALE ANTI-FEMINISTS

I have come across women who oppose feminism under the excuse that the feminism being practised on Facebook is different from the feminism that should be practised in life.

I have also come across the ones who claim that the feminism practised in Nigeria has nothing to do with the original feminism started in the 19th century in America and in England.

But the award for the most ridiculous excuse goes to those women who claim that Nigeria is fair to both genders and that feminism should focus on rural areas.

Feminism is unpopular. It is unpopular because it is trying to change the patriarchal status quo in Nigeria. Being a feminist is almost the same as being a terrorist. I believe that if an average Nigerian man is asked to choose between a feminist and a Fulani Herdsman, he will most likely choose a Fulani Herdsman: that is how much they hate anything or anybody that wears the feminist tag.

However, Nigerian men do have a reason for not liking feminism and feminists. Their privileges are at risk. They are not considered anything special. Their flaws are highlighted and criticised. They are called to be responsible for their actions. They are held to a standard. They are under the microscope because patriarchy is under the microscope. They hate it and I can't fault them to an extent.

But what reason have women got to dislike the very movement that seeks to liberate them?

Are they content with being just patriarchal princesses with all the onus that come with it?

Are they too scared of the consequences of choosing an unpopular lifestyle?

Or do they have personal reasons for not wanting to associate themselves with feminism?

The first two reasons are very common, but, surprisingly, so is the third one.

I know women who do not want to be feminists or who do not want to be associated with feminism, despite being for gender equality, because they have something against some feminists.

I will be the first one to say this: feminist women are not likeable. If you want to judge a feminist by the Nigerian standard of likeability, you won't like many or even all of them. By Nigerian standards, they are over the top, sarcastic, rebellious and assholes. They are not docile and humility, to them, is a brand of toilet paper. If you judge these women according to your perception of how a woman should be because you have been told that is how a woman should be, you will never like a feminist.

But then, why should your dislike for a certain type of woman stop you from being objective about an ideology?

Last week, I witnessed something during the sexual harassment saga. A woman was defending something undefendable because the people laying the accusation were the women she has labelled "Facebook feminists".

And that same personal dislike for feminists will push a woman to say: "There is no inequality in Nigeria. The country is fair to both gender."

You can dislike feminists all you want. You can decide that you do not want to be called a feminist. But do not embarrass yourself by insulting our collective intelligence.

We know, feminists are notorious. If you say you are not a feminist, you have already earned some points in the eye of the average Nigerian. The men, especially will praise you and tag you a virtuous woman. By the virtue of not being a feminist or identifying with feministic ideas, you will be considered a wife material. After all that is highest tag given to women in our society.

But, personally, I think there is more to life than getting accolades from Nigerian men. As a matter of fact, their accolades shouldn't mean shit to you because they come from a place of condescension.

The best compliment you will get from an average Nigerian man is "wise". "Wise" is not a flattering adjective for a woman in our society. "Wise" is "foolish" coated with sugar.

Do you like being "sugarcoatedly" called foolish? So, my sister, I am asking you again: wetin be your problem with feminism?

THE DIARY OF A BITTER FEMINIST

Monday

I have always aspired for greatness. I have never allowed anybody to talk me down or out of achieving my goals. As a female in a male dominated society, I understood very early that I had to work twice as hard as my male counterparts to get my desired results. As rewards for my efforts, I topped the class in primary and secondary school. As an undergraduate, I saw hell in the hands of my male lecturers but I still managed to graduate with 2:1. Now I work in this company. It's been six years of tough competition. Not because my colleagues are exceptionally good, but because I am the only woman who dares to stand up against the men in this office. I have a colleague that I get along with. She is sweet and a good worker, but she allows herself to be overridden easily, especially by the men in this place. We are both in line for a promotion, alongside another colleague of ours. I am the most qualified though. I have my record to prove it.

Tuesday

I didn't get the promotion, instead my colleague did. He is already acting cocky. I don't think I want to work here anymore. I met an old friend of mine recently. She told me about a vacant position in her company. I thought I was more than qualified so I applied. The interview was successful. I was hoping I wouldn't have a need for it, though. It was a back up plan in case I had not been given this promotion. I was confident that I would get it. Obviously there is no winning here. If I want to advance in my career, I must accept that other job. I am sad. I hope they will consider my six years of experience in this company.

My mother is calling. I won't pick . It is always about marriage and one man she wants me to meet. I am not interested. I have more important things to think of.

Wednesday

I have informed my manager of my decision to leave the company. I ought to give a two week notice, but I have unsused holidays, so I will be stopping work a week earlier. I want to take a break before I start my new job. The arrogant colleague acted weird all day. I guess he wasn't expecting that kind of move from me. We both know I am more qualified than him. He should enjoy his new position. I will go higher.

My colleague is surprised that I am leaving. She asked me why I need a better job. A new job will definitely affect my schedule. When will I get the time to go out and meet men? My colleague is a sweet girl and I think she could really do more. But she thinks career doesn't matter much to a woman. I beg to differ.

Thursday

My arrogant colleague is still being a prick. I am almost sorry that I am leaving. I used to stand up against him. Now that I'm leaving he will have nobody to challenge him and will become a nuisance to my sweet colleague.

Friday

My colleagues organised a farewell party for me. I was almost moved to tears. I was of the opinion that they didn't like me. It was a pleasant surprise. I tried to encourage my sweet colleague. I want to see her become successful.

Saturday

Yesterday at the party, my arrogant colleague approached me for a private chat. Apparently a friend of his has taken interest in me after a visit to our office. He wants us to go on a date. He learned that this week would be my last at the company and urged his friend to set us up. I can't say I am excited about the date, though. My colleague is a jerk. I think his friend won't be any different.

Sunday

My arrogant colleague's friend arrived late at our date. I am not a fan of excuses and I don't buy this important meeting from which he couldn't snap out either. Nevertheless we still had a great time. He is one of those few men who like high achieving women. But he is looking to settle down very soon. I told him about my new job and he understood I will need some time to settle in. He is willing to take things slow.

We are going out again next week.

THE DIARY OF A SWEET FEMINIST

Monday

I am a bit tired. I don't really feel like going to work today. I suppose there is a reason why women have always preferred to stay indoors and leave the hustling for men. Truth be told, I think women who work tend to age faster. I have noticed the appearance of wrinkles along my eyes and my mouth since I started this job. My mother didn't have these wrinkles at my age. I wish to be independent, but I don't think I'd have any problems quitting my job if my husband asks me to. I mean, if I were given the option of a monthly allowance, I'd definitely jump on the offer.

Working is tiring. It's not meant for the female body. I don't think working is even feminine. Being constantly exposed to the things of life can alter the natural balance of the female body. Stress, in particular, is bad for childbearing. It can affect the menstrual cycle and delay conception. I want to have my babies in total rest and when I plan to have them.

Tuesday

Another day of hustling, yet I can't still boast of any sustantial accomplishment. My colleague at work got a promotion. I was in line for the same position but instead it went to him. I am sad but happy at the same time. Another colleague of mine was also being considered for the job, but just like me, she didn't make it. I think I prefer the fact the position went to a man, instead of my colleague. I don't mind losing against a man, but I'd be mad if I lost against another woman. The promotion came with a raise. My colleague will benefit greatly from it. He can finally settle down and take good care of his future wife. Women don't need highly paid jobs that much because at the end of the day, they will end up depending on their husbands, so I am all right with my manager's decision to give the job to a man. He needs it more.

Wednesday

My colleague told me she is leaving the company because she has been offered a job in another place. According to her, she was the most qualified to get that promotion. She had already decided that she would quit her job, if she wasn't offered the postion. I am surprised. This is a woman who is already in her 30s. She should be older than me as well, yet she is still focusing on her career instead of trying to settle down. She claims, in her new job, she will have the possibility to advance farther in her career and at a faster pace. I wonder why the need for such. She wants to get married. I know because she told me. When she gets married, she will definitely have to put her career second for the sake of her family. I don't understand. I am happy with my job here. I am not bothered if I don't even advance career wise. As long as my future husband is comfortable, I will be fine. I just need to make sure I am comfortable. The rest will follow by God's grace.

Thursday

This promotion has gotten into my colleague's head. He orders me around and demands that I take care of his tasks, while neglecting mine. I am thinking of reporting him to the manager, but I am scared they will side with him. After all this place is dominated by men. My colleague is leaving to her new job next week. I will be all alone. I don't know if I can cope without her. I really need to get married so that I can quit this job.

Friday

We had a little farewell party for my colleague earlier today at the office. She said she will miss everybody, especially me. Before she finally left the building, she pulled me aside and told me to keep pushing. She said I have what it takes to get to the top and should not allow myself to be discouraged by my recent failure to bag a promotion. She noticed how bossy our colleague has become. According to her, if I maintain a detached and professional behaviour, he will understand and start behaving respectfully. However, there is something doesn't know. Last week, a man came to the office to look for my colleague. I later found out that he is a managing director at a top level company. I'm trying to get my colleague to hook us up, so for now I will keep playing his game. As soon as I get married to his friend, he will have no choice but to respect me as his friend's wife. I will miss my colleague. She was a good worker.

Saturday

I like to dedicate my Saturdays to cleaning and laundry because I will be doing a lot of that when I get married. Also, during the party we held for our colleague yesterday, I spoke with my bossy colleague. His friend actually noticed me the day he came to the office. He would like us to go out. I think my days of suffering are over.

Sunday

I went on a date with my colleague's friend. I don't think we will work. He insists that his wife must work. He even asked me if I would like to go for a second degree or master's. What for? I am done with schooling. I have even worked for some years. I just want to get married and have kids. I have no problem with women aspiring to reach the top of their careers or getting multiple degrees. I just think that their priority shouldn't be that, especially if they want to get married and stay married. The world out there is different from the world inside the home. The woman has to protect her family from external agents and influences, which is why her family must come before anything else.

Besides, God made men the head and women their helpmeets.

No matter how far we advance as humans, we must never depart from the roles God has assigned to us.

HOW SOCIAL HIERARCHY HAS COME TO AFFECT OUR DEFINITION OF MATURITY

We like to think of maturity as the ability to tolerate, endure and adapt to any situation. It's a quality we cherish in people, especially in friends and partners because we confide in this maturity to have a long lasting relationship with them.

However, we must pause to reflect on our idea of maturity and if this much sort after personality trait is doing us more harm than good in a society like ours.

Personally, I like to think of maturity as the ability to identify a problem, search for solutions and choose the one that will benefit as many people as possible, including myself. However, in a society like ours, where the collective well being is placed above the individual well being, I have come to realise that my definition of maturity is not very appreciated.

But let's ask ourselves this question: is being mature, as intended by our culture, good for us as Nigerians?

I personally think it isn't.

We have already discussed social contracts and how these affect our day to day relationships and activities. What we didn't mention is how these social contracts are shaped to accommodate the social hierarchy in our society. In other words, even in social contracts, there isn't actually a mutual responsibility between or among the parties involved. Instead the lower ranking individual or group is required to submit by social convention to the other party.

To offer a better understanding of this precisation, I would like to analyse how maturity is defined inside a family unit from the point of view of the lowest ranking individual in the social hierarchy.

HOUSEHOLD: HUSBAND/FATHER  - WIFE/MOTHER

In a family setting, the father comes first. He is the head of the family and he must be consulted before any decision can be made. In the case of opposing views, he gets to have the last word. There are exceptions, like among the Yorubas, where even women can be head of the family. But I would like to us to restrict our analysis to what we would say is the norm.

In a household, after the father, comes the mother.

(Before we proceed, let's make a clarification. What characterises social hierarchy is not really the amount of power each individual or group holds, but the disparity between the ranks. Even between subsequent ranks, there can be a critical difference in power, so much that a rank can become oppressive to the rank that follows immediately).

So in a household, the mother comes right after the father.  However, father and mother do not relate to each other as parents to the same children; they relate to each other as husband (top) and wife (bottom). Therefore the father comes to hold more decisional power than the mother. She has to respond to him in everything, not just in matter concerning the house and the children, but also in matters that concern herself. We can say that the wife-mother submits to the husband-father.

In a scenario, in which the husband-wife relationship faces a crisis, social convention demands that the lower ranking party should be the one to make the greater sacrifice for peace to reign. This means that the wife is expected to understand the husband, forgive his misconduct and clean up his mess, where necessary. The wife's willingness to do this or how this impacts her well being is irrelevant. She is bound by three social contracts (man to woman, husband to wife and father of child to mother of child), all which places the man above the woman, to perform this role.

How does this relate to maturity?

A mature woman is a woman who performs these roles on her own and without “external coercion”. The moment a woman is being “advised”, or better reminded, of her role in the house, she is already losing the appellative of a mature woman which by social definition coincides with good wife, good mother and good person.

HOUSEHOLD: PARENTS – CHILDREN

I added children to the social hierarchy because, well, they are part of the society but the truth is, children don't matter. They are almost irrelevant until they grow into adults who can make decisions and make social contracts. So, even though I use the word children, which might suggest infants, I am actually talking about adults men and women and how they relate with their parents.

First of all, let's bear it mind that parenting is not considered a responsibility, a choice – for the most part, or an (risky) investment; it is rather an obligation that a man and a woman owe to the society and a favour that a man and a woman do their children. This means that children are indebted to their parents as long as they live. This debt consists of obedience and financial responsibilty.

Children owe their parents absolute obedience until they get married. After marriage, a man becomes the head of the house and becomes the new figure of authority, while the woman transfers her obedience to her parents – in particular her father – to her husband.

There might be situations where the extended family is called to mediate in an issue involving a husband and a wife. The extended family, however understands that the husband, as the head of the household, has the final say and that the wife must obey his decision.

As far as the financial responsibility is concerned, children are still required to cater for their parents even after they have gotten married. In many cultures, the husband, besides taking care of his own extended and nuclear family, also takes on the responsibility of catering for the wife's extended family. Of course, this kind of arrangement results in many different types of situations that we will talk about that subequently.

What happens when the parents are not good parents?

Technically nothing.

In advanced societies where individuals matter as much as the collectivity, if not even more, children are seen as valuable members of those societies. They are considered the future of the society, so a lot of investments are made on them. Good parenting is one. In cases where parents fail to offer this primary care, children are taken away from them by govermental institutions created to safeguard the welfare of children and placed into foster care or communities.

In Nigeria, children are rarely removed from an abusive family setting because, like I said, they don't matter. And as these children grow into adults, they know that no matter what happens, they can never break the social contract between them and their parents because they were never an active party in its creation. Rather they were born into it.

When you are born into a contract, you don't have the power to annul it. Only the person who created that contract can do it. That is the reason why we hear of parents, most especially fathers, disowning their children, therefore annulling their parent-child social contract, but we don't hear of children disowning their parents. The word “disown” (to not own), itself suggests an ownership of the parent over the child.

Our situation is not as bad as in some Muslim countries where parents have the right of life and death over their children, but in Nigeria, you won't be reported to any authority if you abuse your biological children.

What does it mean to be a mature child?

To be a mature child means to understand and accept that the parent-child social contract is binding under any circumstances and until death do them part.

Being mature in Nigeria is not easy and most importantly is not conveient. There is more to lose than to gain from being mature especially if you don't rank high in the social hierarchy.

I don't do Nigerian maturity. I have never done it as a child or as a woman. I simply do me. I am a very individualistic person and, yes, I am selfish. I put myself first. I know, that even for the intentional definition of maturity, I am immature. But seriously, I don't care much.

I am just here to illustrate. In the end Everyone does his or herself.

"MEN TOO...": HOW MEN ARE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE FEMINIST MOVEMENT

Women have been relegated to the background for centuries.
Women have been deprived of fundamental human rights for centuries.
Women have been abused for centuries.
Women have been shut down for centuries.

In the 19th century, women started speaking out. They conquered rights. Amidst derision, mockery and constant criticism, they made the feminist movement an international ideology.

This is the 21st century and women are still fighting for rights. We are still trying to find the voices that we lost. We are still trying to speak for those women are still too afraid to do so. We are determined to make sure patriarchy is de-institutionalised.

However, in this modern society, every time a woman stands up to speak about a problem she is facing, a man will also stand up and say "Men too". Why?

Men were comfortable with patriarchy. Men never realised how harmful patriarchy was to the male sex until women started speaking up. Without feminism, I doubt any man would have decided to fight for women's right or even question the idea of masculinity as taught by patriarchy.

So why are men now trying to overshadow women in their own struggle and especially, why do they demand that feminism also becomes the voice of men?

Feminism is a socio-political movement created by women for women. These women can decide to discuss issues that affect men as well, but they are not under any obligation to do so.

Men could comfortably start their own movement to fight against toxic masculinity, instead they want to take over the feminist movement and equiparate their struggles with that of women. They even insist that feminism should be scrapped and replaced with humanism.

How fucked up is that?

Feminists already have to deal with men, who despite calling themselves feminists, want to tell women how to go about their fight and what issues women should focus on.

Now we also have to deal with men who want to invade every feminist thread to talk about how men are "whatever" too.

This is nothing but male privilege at work.

Men must leave feminism alone. Feminism is for women.
Men can unite to create their own movement but we won't allow them to take over something that speaks of the tragedy of being born as a woman into this world.

Even the movement Meninism, which should be a movement that fights for the "rights" of men is nothing but a gathering of men who can't deal with fact that men are losing too many privileges. It is nothing but a coven of feminist hating cry babies who would live perfectly fine in a pre-feministic world.

Most of these men crying "Men too" wouldn't have any problems living in a pre-feministic world either; and that's because they are not pushed by the desire to make the world better for everybody.  Rather they are just irritated by how loud women are becoming with their voices. It makes them so uncomfortable that they come up with these pathetic attempts to derail the attention from women and give it to themselves - as if men are not getting enough attention already.

Between some male feminists who are champions of mansplaining and these "men too" whiners, I really do not know who is worse.

Women started feminism and women will also finish it.
If any man wants to join the fight, they are more than welcome.
But these two categories of assholes will never, ever, be welcomed among us. I personally will never welcome them.

They are the true enemies of feminism and they are the ones we should look out for.

It is FEMINIsm and it will always be about the female human before anybody else.

REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE ABUSER'S COMFORT ZONE AND MAKE YOUR OWN COMFORT ZONE THEIR CRITICAL ZONE

Abusers rely on two certainties to carry out and continue their abusive actions: the confidence that they will always get away with it and the security provided by the environment.

Abusers are often narcissists who in the bid to earn respect and remain in control, resort to threats and harm. A notable trait of a narcissist is their apparent confidence, which in reality is arrogance since their achievements and general quality of life rarely match the opinion they have of themselves. Abuse stems from a place of frustration. These people want respect, but they hardly get it because either their person or their actions do not warrant it.

Narcissists feed on external validations, so most of their confidence comes from the environment they live in and from the people they mingle with. Narcissists will hardly make friends with high achievers because that would make them feel inadequate about their own failures. Instead they like to mingle with people who have the same mindset and possibly struggles as them. And that's because they feel these people won't judge them, since they are all practically in the same boat.

Narcissism is one of the toughest personality disorders as narcissists are not aware of their own "awkwardness". They are extremely critical of other people, yet they can't accept being criticised, even by themselves. So when a narcissist grows into a full blown abusive person and keeps on with it, it is because they have found the kind of validation they needed from their victim and the environment.

There is no way to stop a narcissist who has become abusive, as long as they remain in that place and among those people. They need to be uprooted from that security in order to be stripped of the God complex they have developed thanks to their successful manipulations. In that God complex mode, they believe that they are untouchable and immune to judgement.

Exposing a narcissist to criticism will certainly trigger a reaction from them but this reaction can often result in a violent outburst.

I, personally, have dealt with different types of narcissists. I have met the one who always wanted to be seen as the victim even though they were the ones perpetuating the acts of violence. I have met the one who thought of themselves as the best and could be extremely nasty to anybody who refused to revere them. I have met the one who believed they were entitled to everything they wanted even though it meant depriving other people of those things.

One common trait I noticed, however, was how fragile these people were. They acted as if they were indispensable in people's lives, whereas they were actually very disposable. They needed their victims more than their victims needed them. Without someone to control, they sank into a mode of social irrelevance.

I would like to use one of the narcissists I have encountered so far as an example. I will call her Joy.

Joy was this average looking girl, with a high school education, ambitious but lazy, who dreamed of meeting a rich man who would save her from the poverty that befell her family after her father died. Joy started dating when she was a teenager until she met this guy and initiated an abusive relationship which lasted for five years. The relationship was characterised by cheating, violence, lies and plenty drama. She also initiated violence even though the guy always prevailed, since he was the stronger one.

Joy thought of herself as the queen bee and wanted to be treated as such by other girls. She often made friends with girls who were much younger than her and tried to coach them into submission. When she made friends in her age bracket, it was never with girls who were actually succeeding academically or professionally, as she wasn't, instead she chose girls who were going through the same struggles.

Her boyfriend was into some illegal deeds, so he provided her with cash and luxury gifts which she flaunted, with the hope that it would arouse envy in other girls, especially in those girls whom she believed wanted to be like her.

But her relationship, like I said, was filled with plenty drama so the pair broke up multiple times during those five years.

Whenever Joy and her boyfriend broke up, she changed; and by changed I mean she became meeker and less confident. Without a boyfriend to constantly validate her megalomaniac tendencies and a regular cash flow, she would start trying to make amends with people she had offended previously. However, as soon as she and her boyfriend reconciled, she would start acting nasty again. This pattern would repeat itself with subsequent boyfriends. She was so unstable that till date, people still don't know who she really is. Is she that bitch or is she actually nice?

This interesting observation is not peculiar to Joy alone. I have observed it in the other narcissists that I have been unfortunate to meet and even have intimate rapports with. The problem though is that they are not aware of their change of personality. They believe they are just doing what any other person should do.

How did I deal with my situation?

I removed myself from the equation. This alone destabilised their sense of confidence. They saw that, unlike what they had thought, they were not indispensable at all. That doesn't mean that they stopped being narcissists. Narcissism is a personality disorder and as such requires the intervention of a professional (I am not a professional. I am just an observer).

They witnessed a power shuffle in our relationship. The farther I went, the less powerful they became. Interestingly they also became more obstinate with their manipulations.

Perhaps some of you have been in abusive relationships and can understand what I am trying to say.

You try to get away from your abuser, they start begging and promising change. They even change for a while.
You insist with your decision, they start threatening you.
You move away from them, they start inciting people against you.
They can go as far as turning your family against you, your friends and even causing you to lose your job. They want to destroy everything you have so that you can once again rely on them to get those things back.

They can be extremely vicious.

One way I managed to keep the distance is by succeeding. When they call my friends, they hear that I am happy. They learn that I have a job and that I am involved in self developing projects. They understand that for them to be involved in my life again, it's either they leave their comfort zone, which they won't or I leave my comfort zone which I won't.

One thing about narcissists is that they often project their feelings and flaws on to other people. Even when they see that you are happy and succeeding, but they are not happy and succeeding, they will believe that your are actually living a lie. And since they cannot get to you, they will try to manipulate people around you, just so they can pass a message across: you are missing something important in your life. That something is them. You can never be truly happy, unless you are with them.

How did I stop this from happening?

What I did was:
- Cut off those people who were easily manipulated;
- Create strong bonds with my friends by letting them know what I went through and why it is important that these people remain out of my life.

I can say this has worked for me so far and that it will continue working for me as long as I remain in this zone and do not allow their manipulations to get to me.

It is very hard to stand by your decision when everybody seems to be of the opinion that you are making a mistake.

Self love conquereth all.

If you love yourself, narcissists don't stand a chance. They might win the initial battles, but they will always lose the war.

Your comfort zone is your place of happiness. Your comfort zone is their place of misery.

Be strong.

DON'T GET IT TWISTED. JESUS HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES.

Written on Easter Friday, 2018

Jesus died today, or maybe he is still dying right now and on Sunday, he is going to rise just like a phoenix. But let me tell you something: there are things even Jesus cannot fix.

No matter how hard you pray, there are things prayers can never, I mean never, I repeat never, solve.

- genetic defects (this does not include homosexuality. Homosexuality is not a genetic defect. It is a sexual orientation and it is natural);
- biological defects;
- illnesses and diseases;
- mental illnesses;
- personality disorders;
- other people's shit.

Practically any problem that is real.

Your relationship with your god is strictly personal. It's more of a mind soothing experience than an effective method of solving real problems. It's supposed to be a deep meditative act when you mentally evaluate a situation and come up with a solution. Prayers are not a solution.

When you rely on prayers to solve problems that require a practical approach, you are doing nothing but leaving that problem to causality. The problem might resolve itself or persist. But in cases where the problem resolves itself, it won't be thanks to your prayers. Instead it could be the result of other people's actions or just life taking its course.

Nobody is saying: "Don't pray". However, I insist that you apply sense when you do it.

Identify the problem, know how you want it to be resolved, then make plans to actualize that resolution .

Have you ever wondered why Bill Gates, despite being an Atheist, is the second richest man in the world? The man doesn't pray, yet he has managed to top over 7 billion people when it comes to achievements, influence, affluence and wealth. This is a man who doesn't pray.

We all follow a process when we are faced with adversities. I have no problem with Christians choosing prayers as their own process. But that process must produce a solution. A process is not a resolution. It is just a process.

So pray, but while you are praying, make sure you are thinking of how to solve your problems because Jesus won't do that for you.

That's all I have to say.
Happy Good Friday.

MEN AND WOMEN WHO HATE ON SLAY QUEENS ARE POOR

This post is not meant to talk about how and where these women got their money because the reason for hating on slay queens has little to do with their source of income.

Everybody loves beautiful things.

Women want beautiful things.

Men want beautiful things.

Women want to look their best.

Men also want to look their best.

Women want to date and marry handsome men.

Men want to date and marry beautiful women.

So why do some men and women hate on slay queens?

Simple: slay queens make them feel inadequate. These men and women become extremely conscious of how financially disadvantaged they are when they compare themselves with a slay queen.

MEN WHO HATE ON SLAY QUEENS ARE POOR.

There is no man on Earth that doesn't dream of dating or marrying a beautiful woman: a woman they can take out and everybody will turn to look at her.

When a man start "yarning" about how he loves natural looking women, who don't wear make up and wear too fashionable clothing, he is doing it so out of poverty.

In a society like ours, men are expected to have more money than women, so it's not abnormal for women to be told to tone it down so that they can attract a man. Men themselves want to believe that they can have any woman they want, so you can imagine what happens when they come across one that looks way out of their league.

They hate and hate.

That's when they start talking about natural looks, humility and home training.

Tell me, what has humility and home training got to do with how a woman dresses?

Is that not poverty mentality talking?

WOMEN WHO HATE ON SLAY QUEENS ARE ENVIOUS PICK-ME-GIRLS.

Women who hate on slay queens are even worse than their male counterparts. These women don't just limit themselves to hating; they also go all the way to kill a slay queen's appeal.

They are envious vultures.

And you know the funniest part? They are dying to become slay queen themselves. After hating on a slay queen, they'll slide into a man's inbox to beg for a smart phone or human hair.

Whether or not slay queens make their money through shady ways is not anybody's business. Nobody is hating on Hushpuppi or those American rappers. We know that these men's ways are not always pure but nobody bothers them with talks about humility and home training.

Instead these same men who hate on slay queens want to be like them and the women want to date them. Some are even ready to become their baby mamas.

Give $1M to these haters and see if they won't start slaying more than the slay queens that they are hating on right now.

Slay queens are bae.
If you have problems with them, you are poor.
Go and make money and stop the hate.

Osheeeey baddest.

MEN ARE THE CAUSE OF 90% OF FAILED MARRIAGES IN NIGERIA

Whenever you hear that a marriage has broken apart in Nigeria, don't stress your brain too much to identify who the person responsible for it is. It is almost always the man that is behind that failed marriage.

Check it. He was either a chronic cheat, abusive, a narcissist or all of them together. Practically a horrible human being who had no business being somebody's husband who instead became one.

Successful marriages, as we call them, are built upon the pain and suffering of the woman. For a woman to decide that she's done with a marriage in Nigeria, not only has she been through hell, she has also died multiple times and resurrected.

Divorced women are fucking Jesuses who died for their husband's sins but were given the chance to come back to life and find happiness.

These women deserve respect. They are warriors. They are conquerors. They are victors.

Nigerian women who walk out of their marriages should be heard. They deserve a listening ear.

Divorced men on the other hand must be shamed and forced into silence. They have nothing important or relevant to say. They are just cry babies.

If a man comes to you to complain about his wife, ask him: "What did you do?". These men are guilty of terrible things against their wives but they will never mention them.

It is always small cheating.
It is always small or ordinary slap.
It is always "a woman that I married with my money".

Nigerian women who dare to say "enough is enough" are the real MVPs. Whoever disagrees can go and jump inside lake Victoria.

These women are the true heroines we need, not your mother that stuck with your horrible father until she died a sad and miserable death.

Divorced Nigerian Women.
Gbosa! Gbosa! Gbosaaaa!

WHY OUR SOCIETY HATES SINGLE WOMEN

Woman.
Someone's daughter.
Someone's sister.
Someone's wife.
Someone's mother.

Never just a someone.

People like to relate women to a person in her life. It's fundamental for these people to be able to identify women as people.

Have you come across sentences like: "Imagine if she was your sister." "That is someone's mother." "That is someone's wife." "I am for women's rights because I have daughters and sisters."

It is never: "She is a person too". They just can't. There must be someone to validate her existence, otherwise it doesn't sound "normal" for her to be treated as a person.

So what happens when a woman is not someone's daughter (orphan), sister (only child), wife (not married, divorced or widowed) or mother (childless)?

How do you validate a woman who has no intimate attachment to anybody and most importantly, what do you do with her?

The answer is simple: a lot of people can't see the validity of an unattached woman because they don't see any use for her. She is useless and useless people are perceived as dangers to the well being and order of the society.

The same way we weed out superfluous plants from our farms and gardens, single unattached women must be annulled. They either find someone to give their life a meaning or they reduce themselves to nothing.

What does it mean to be an orphan a woman?
It means that you have no parental control. Men need guidance, women need control. A woman who is under parental control is more likely to accept being under a man's control someday: an obedient daughter makes an obedient and submissive wife.

What does it mean to be an only child as a woman?
It means that you have nobody to care for. Women need to be nurturing, men need to provide. A woman who has siblings is more likely to be more tolerant and patient with her future family. A nurturing woman makes a family oriented woman.

What does it mean to be a Mrs Nobody?
It means you have no identity. A woman of marriageable age is too grown to be under her parent's care. Being a daughter is seen as phase in certain cultures. When a woman gets married, she loses her identity as a daughter and takes on her new identity as a wife. Men do not lose their identity. They simply continue their father's legacy. Women, on the contrary, do not have this continuity. Thereby, a woman of marriageable age who is not married, is by definition a nobody. Only widows are excused and not always.

What does it mean to be childless as a woman?
It means that you have not fulfilled your purpose as someone of the female gender. As a woman, your most cherished ability is the ability to bear children, and as many children as possible, preferably male children. When a woman does not fulfil this purpose, she is hardly considered a woman. Being barren is the same as being totally useless. There is no use for barren women in patriarchal societies. Only women whose kids have died are excused, and just like widows, not always.

What happens to women who make the choice to cut off parental control, refuse to marry or have children?
These women are feared. For a woman to decide that she won't dance to the tune of the society, and that, instead, she wants to go for what society has decided is meant for men only, she is bold and bold women are dangerous. They are dangerous because their rebellion will definitely disrupt the normal flow of a society.

In countries where birth rates are extremely low, the women are also more emancipated. Because left to men, women would get pregnant every year since the burden of caring for children practically falls on the woman. The women in these countries have understood this unjust setting, so they have taken family planning into their hands. In those countries, women decide how many children they want and when they want to have them. You can't scare that kind of woman with threats of a divorce or getting married to another woman. She hardly budges.

There is also a reason why these countries are among the richest in the world. These women do not dedicate their entire lives to child rearing, but only the minimum indispensable. Most of them have careers or activities that take them outside the home, which means that they contribute actively and almost in equal measure as men to the society. Even though housewives contribute a lot to the society too since they bring up some of the future members, they are still regarded as passive citizens and that is because, most of time, they do not generate any taxable income.

Every year, thousands of Nigerians migrate to these countries because their living standards are extremely higher than the one in Nigeria. However, the average Nigerian (man) would never want Nigeria to become like these countries, society wise.

They want Nigeria to grow into an economical power, but they do not want women to be active participants in this growth. That is why they do all sorts to keep women stuck in the reproductive chain, which starts as soon as the female child is born. Her parents, especially her mother, have the responsibility of grooming her into a good child bearer and wife.

Women who don't fit into this plan or refuse to fit into this plan are useless. Nobody likes useless things.

And that, people, is why our society hates single women.

One last question: is it more important to be a wife or to be a mother?
A woman has to be both. Unless her husband or kids are dead, a woman has no reason to be unmarried and childless.

What if she can't have children?
Irrelevant. Get married and steal a baby.

What if the man can't have children?
Divorced women are seen as failures in our society. So stay married to that man and steal a baby.

NIGERIA AND SOCIAL CONTRACTS

Social contracts are contracts that are neither written or verbal, and of which validity is reinforced by custom and practices.

In Nigeria, social contracts exist between the young and the old, the individual and the community, the child and the family, the husband and the wife, and men and women.

These contracts mainly determine what roles and duties are expected of all the parties involved. They are not legally binding since they are neither written or verbal. However, they still manage to be relevant in environments where a sense of community is quite strong.

In Nigeria, social contracts are extremely binding and those who defy them are not well seen by outsiders or members of the same social units.

However, things are changing.

As people become more aware of the unfair burden that society places on its member, especially on those who are at the bottom of the social hierarchy (children and women), social contracts are losing their binding powers little by little.

The change comes especially from women who have started to realise that they have more to lose than to gain from respecting social contracts between men and women and between husband and wife.

In order for these two social contracts to function, women ought to renounce their financial independence, while the men renounce their basic maintenance skills. The relationship that the two contracts dictate is that of co-dependency, in which the woman ends up with shortest stick because she is not the one with the money.

The patriarchal setting does not help either: because while a man is forgiven for breaking a social contract, a woman is severely punished if she fails to respect it. A woman's respect and honour depend on how much she respects these contracts and funny enough, the burden to make sure the man also respects them, is on her too.

Even when the man fails to honour his part, the woman is still not allowed to dishonour hers. Because, while the woman's role is absolute, the man's role is determined by his personal whim. This is how patriarchy shapes social contract between men and women and husband and wife.

Social contracts exist across every society around the world.

In Italy for example, there is social contract among classmates. From primary school to middle high school, if anybody is celebrating his or her birthday, they have to invite their classmates. As the children grow older, this social contract becomes less binding.

A few days ago, I read the post of a lady who claimed that on her first visit to a man she had been seeing for just a few weeks, he requested that she cooked for him and his friends because that is what is expected of a woman. She refused and ended contact with him.

My comment on the post was this question: "During those weeks, did you accept any money from him?"

Some ladies thought that my question was legitimate, while others thought it was irrelevant. The truth is that, since that incident took place in Nigeria, my question was more than valid. The woman's decision to refuse to cook would only gain legitimate support if she never accepted any form of monetary gift from the man.

In Nigeria, if a man offers you money and you accept, you have entered a social contract that demands that you cook, clean and sexually satisfy him.

In Nigeria, if a woman accepts to pay a visit to your house, it is implied that she is going to perform at least one of the three roles a social contract demands of her, so she expects you to pay for her journey to and fro, and also give her money for personal upkeep when she leaves.

What happens when the woman is the one offering the money instead?

If a woman offers a man money and he accepts, his gesture won't birth a social contract because this type of social contract relies on rigid roles to function, the so called gender roles.

Women who act outside their designated gender roles won't find support and sympathy if events turn sour. But men who take on roles that are regarded feminine, will still manage to find support, amidst mockery, thanks to the patriarchal setting in Nigeria.

Patriarchy is what protects men who are involved in social contracts, while it offers absolutely no protection to women. A woman's protection is at the discretion of the man she is attached to, and like we said earlier, it's her duty to make sure the man respects the contract.

I personally do not like social contracts and do not like to involve myself with men or women who partake in social contracts. The relationships that social contracts create are just too rigid, stressful and monotonous.

I have no problem cooking for a man. I do it because I want to but I'd find it offensive if he thought he has to reciprocate by giving me money.

It's even more offensive when a man buys me a present and the next thing, he is demanding that we get sexually involved. I always make sure a man and I are on the same page.

If I cook for you, you can reciprocate by cooking for me.
If you buy me a present, I'll reciprocate by buying you a present.

I understand that there are men and women who want to take advantage of the steady change to eat their cake and have it.

Men want women to partake in financial roles and still enjoy being served food, cleaned after and sexually satisfied whenever they want.

Women too want men who will partake in domestic chores and still carry all the financial burden of the relationship.

It doesn't work like that. You either respect the social contract as it is or you abandon it completely and do what suits the both of you.

It's all about what makes you happy.
If social contracts make you happy, stick with them.
If you think social contracts are crap, scrap them and do you.

NIGERIANS LOVE THE WOMAN THAT WAITS

Nigerians love the woman that waits.

She hopes, she wishes and she prays.

All she does is wait.

She never really does anything.

She does nothing bad, but she does nothing good either.

She's a waiter, a spectator of her own destiny.

A woman who will live, die and be forgotten. She won't be remembered as Obehi, Nkiru, Nse, Ini, etc...

She will be remembered among "those women who never gave us problems".

Her identity will be lost in the midst of a multitude.

Her soul with fuse with those of many other women who did nothing like her.

I know the name of the first feminist.

Do you know the name of the first woman who waited?

TIWA WAS AN EXEMPLARY WIFE

Whether I like it or not, Tiwa played the role of the good wife and good woman egregiously.

She slipped that one time she gave an interview in which, in the attempt to defend herself from the nefarious accusations made by her husband, she revealed family secrets and trashed his ego.

However one cannot say that she didn't try for that man.

Hadn't Tee Billz sniffed tons of cocaine and logged into his Instagram account to vomit rubbish about his wife, her mother and her colleagues, we wouldn't have found out that:

- he is a drug addict;
- he is jobless;
- he was sacked as her manager because he cheated her and stole her money;
- he lived on credit and expected his wife to clear his debts;
- he cheated;
- he abandoned her at the hospital.

Tiwa played her wifey role to perfection: she justified, tolerated and covered up for her husband's excesses. She even took him back after his internet madness. Then she made an unforgivable mistake: she said enough.

You see, a wife is forever. All a man has to do is ask "Will you marry me?" And say "I do". But the woman must actually respect all her marital vows especially the one that says "Till death do us part".

Tiwa did not honour her vows. Yes, Tee Billz filed for divorce, but that's irrelevant. She's supposed to continue being a wife even after he had left. That's what good wives do.

Your husband leaves you for another woman?
Who cares? Keep being good. One day he will come back and if doesn't, you will die a good woman and maintain your honour.

Your husband divorces you?
Read previous answer.

Your husband dies?
Just be good until you die too.

Tiwa, Tiwa. How could you have stopped being a good wife just because your husband divorced you?

Chai. People nor dey fear God again.

WHEN A NIGERIAN WOMAN HAS STANDARDS

Nigerians are not used to women who have standards. They do not know how to act around them or even what to do with them.

As far as the society goes, these women are just free radicals who need to be shut down and alienated from other women so that they do not infect their more accommodating counterparts with their spirit of demand.

Women with standards will lose a lot in their lives, but they will never lose themselves.

They will lose their families because that is the first place where they will be asked to lower their standards just so they can be seen as good daughters and sisters to their parents and siblings respectively.

They will have bitter memories of their days in school for the many times that they were not given their dues simply because they are females.

They will quit many jobs and struggle to pay their bills because their employers cannot see beyond their sex and always end up locking them in that gender box.

They will experience heartbreaks and countless failed relationships because the men won't love and treat them in the way that they deserve.

They will live a life of isolation and find the company of the average Nigerian woman intolerable.

They will be called stubborn, unruly, arrogant and "not wife material" because they have learned to see themselves first of all as human beings and persons with dignity.

These women demand to be accorded the respect that they deserve as fundamental members of the society. They want their sex to be seen as a secondary attribute because in the end, their humanity is what has brought them to the stage they are in life today, and not their reproductive organs.

A woman with standards is a person of her own making. She speaks a language only few people can understand, for that reason you will find out that she is not a particularly social personal or someone who keeps many friends.

A woman with standards is a woman who is capable of change. She is never the same person she was yesterday and nobody who meets and interacts with her leaves without having experienced part of that change.

She questions the society.
She changes the society.

She is a goddess of destruction for all the walls that she will dismantle, as well as being a goddess of creation for all the bridges that she will build.

A woman with standards is the only woman who can save herself and any other woman who wants to be saved.

6 or 9?

"As I was driving to work this morning, I kept losing focus. I had had a terrible fight with my husband last night and we had both left home without saying a word to each other.

Then it happened. A stupid pedestrian decided to skip the zebra crossing and even a nearby traffic light and jumped right in the middle of the road. I managed to stop just in time. I steered my car abruptly, but the damage it suffered was minimum since I had kept my speed low.

I'm really grateful to God for keeping me safe and for giving me the chance to make up with my husband later in the day.

God, you are amazing."

------------------------------

"This morning I was in a rush to a job interview. The traffic was extremely busy and no car was willing to slow down. I had initially thought of using the zebra crossing, but these stupid drivers - nobody was willing to stop for me.

I saw a traffic light a bit further but I noticed that the traffic seemed to reduce on the other side of the crossing, so I started sliding towards my left until I spotted a slow driver.

It was supposed to be a fast run across the road, but I stumbled on my heels and lost my balance. Time to readjust myselc and the car had almost approached me. It wasn't speeding, and yet the stupid driver was totally oblivious of my presence until the car almost hit me.

Thank God she spotted me just in time. I could have died.

I missed my job interview because I was too shaken, but at least I'm alive to tell my story.

God is truly wonderful."

---------------------------

Dear man or woman who is somewhere thanking God that your enemies did not succeed in ruining your life, your enemies are equally grateful that you their enemy did not ruin theirs.

You call it 6, they call it 9. It's not always the case of you win, they lose. Sometimes it's a win win situation.

WE SERVE PATRIARCHY

ESIRI WANTS TO PAY GROOMPRICE

Esiri: A woman refused to kneel down and people are attacking her online. She's a feminist.

Steve: Don't mind those yeye feminists. They will never deal with important issues. Traditional rites are symbolic. They don't mean the things these feminists think they mean.

Esiri: I'm glad you say so. You know I was thinking, since the bride price is just a symbolic gesture of appreciation, why can't the family of the bride appreciate the groom by paying a small token too?

Steve: A woman should pay money on a man's head? Tufiakwa.

Esiri: But it's just a symbolic gesture now.

Steve: Shut up. What do you know about culture? The symbol is for the man to show that he's serious about marrying the woman.

Esiri: Why can't the woman also show that she's serious about marrying the man?

Steve: In our culture the man marries the woman, not the other way round.

Esiri: So, it's not actually symbolic.

Steve: It is symbolic. And only men pay a token for women.

*Esiri has quietly broken up with Steve. She will inform him next week.*

MY MARRIAGE IS ALL I NEED

Linda: Hey, Monica, long time. How are you?

Monica: I am fine o. And you?

Linda: I am fine too. What's up with you now? How is life? How is work? How is loooove?

Monica: Well, life is good and so is loove. I got married last year.

Linda: Ehen, and you didn't invite me.

Monica: I heard that you moved to another state, so I thought that you might not be able to come.

Linda: That's true though.

Monica: Are you back now?

Linda: No, I just came to visit my family. You know, I work where I live now. That's actually the reason I even relocated. What about you? Are you still working at that law firm?

Monica: No, I resigned.

Linda: I understand. Sometimes it can be really hard to juggle between work and minding the kids. That's why I'm all for getting a help, a nanny and even a driver.

Monica: Actually I don't have any kids yet. We are still trying to conceive.

Linda: So why are you not working? You should make the best of this time to advance in your career.

Monica: It's just that my husband does not want me to work.

Linda: OK. But I still don't think that's a good idea. This country is tough and life can be unpredictable.

Monica: Ah, are you wishing me bad? Or are you praying for my husband to lose his job or die?

Linda: No, na. Why would I wish you such a thing? I can never do that.

Monica: Then mind your business, madam independent woman. And for your information, my husband is a millionaire and he takes very good care of me. I travel abroad for holidays.  I wear expensive clothes. I live in a mansion. What else can I ask for?

Linda: You are right. You couldn't ask for more. I'll see you around then.

Monica: See you indeed. Meddling feminist.

*Monica is truly married to a rich man but none of their assets has her name on it: not even the car that her husband bought for her. Monica is a lawyer. But Monica is now married, so Monica nor get sense again. We wish Monica well and we hope that life continues to be good to her.*

MRS PATRA ARCHY LEARNS...

Patra: Look at them. What is #wifenotcook ? So, now, women should not cook for their husbands again? Na wa for these feminists o. They will not talk about FGM or pay gap. Na who dey cook for house them wan dey fight for.

*Next day Patra goes for a job interview*

Manager: Miss Archy, your resumé is impressive. I don't think we could find another candidate who is more suitable for this job.

Patra: This is good to hear. I myself can't wait to start this job and my husband will be elated.

Manager: You are married?

Patra: Yes, I am.

Manager: Any kids?

Patra: Two, actually.

Manager: Well, in this case, I think we may need to review your application further.

Patra: I thought you said that I was the best candidate?

Manager: Yes, but you are also a candidate with responsibilities.

Patra: Like any other married person. But that doesn't mean that I can't do this job.

Manager: We both know that it's different for women.  I mean you have to cook for the family, look after the kids, clean the house, do laundry. You know how it is around here.

Patra: My husband and I have made arrangements for that. We have a help and a nanny.

Manager: This job might require you to work till late or even weekends. We don't want to disrupt your family life and interfere with your duties at home.

Patra: I am more than just a cook and a housemaid. I'm a woman for Christ's sake. A human being. A person. My credentials should matter more than my marital status or whether or not I have kids.

Manager: I'm really sorry Mrs Archy, but I have made my decision.

*Patra later learned that the job was given to a man who is married with four children*

CASE STUDY OF ANTIFEMINISTS

CASE STUDY 1

They: I don't want to be a feminist if you all are going to keep talking about irrelevant issues.

Feminist: OK.

They: Aren't you going to try and convince me to stay?

Feminist: Why?

They: Because feminism needs me.

Feminist: No, not really.

They: You need me.

Feminist: Nope.

They: Well, I don't need you either. Bitter Feminists.

-----------------------

CASE STUDY 2

They: Feminists are so bitter. Like they are always attacking women who don't agree with them.

Feminist: Can I see evidence?

They: Look at what they did to Tiwa for going back to her husband.

Feminist: I think it's her interview that caused feminists to distance themselves from her.

*posts excerpt from the interview*

They: So now a woman can't settle with her husband again?

Feminist: Did you read the interview?

They: Feminists just want to control women.

Feminist: I'm outta here.

-----------------------

CASE STUDY 3

They: Feminists are so bitter. Look the way they are attacking women.

Feminist: Show evidence.

*They post link to a thread. Feminist reads and gets an idea of the situation*

Feminist: I didn't see any insults by any feminists. Patriarchists were the ones throwing insults.

They: Feminists insulted people too.

Feminist: Yes, because patriarchists insulted them first. Look.

*Posts screenshots*

They: See, see how bitter they are.

Feminist: You need to go and fuck yourself.

They: See? You are bitter.

----------------------

CASE STUDY 4

They: She thinks feminism is about kneeling or not kneeling down? They always waste time with frivolities.

Feminist: She set her own standards.

They: Who said a woman can't be happy by playing traditional roles?

Feminist: She doesn't want to.

They: Why get married in the first place?

Feminist: It's her choice.

They: They make feminism sound ridiculous.

Feminist: All right.

------------------

CASE STUDY 5

They: I like Chimamanda. She's a feminist who doesn't put women down.

Feminist: The same Chimamanda who was almost eaten raw for questioning Hillary about her bio and for saying her feminism is different from Beyonce's?

They: I know about that. I'm just saying that she doesn't sound bitter.

Feminist: Chimamanda has been called bitter and even sex starved. Some of her critics think she's a lonely single woman.

They: I know about that. I'm just saying that she is calm.

Feminist: So you know that it's not what she says or how she says it but rather those things that she says that they don't agree with.

They: She's a good model of feminism.

Feminist. I don't know what to say to you anymore.

-------------------------

THE END.

BEFORE THE BATTLE AGAINST GOLIATH

God: David.

David: *snoring*

God: David. I'm Jaweh and I command you to wake up.

David: You again? Wetin you want?

God: How dare you? Don't you know that I am...

David: Homosapient, Homopresent and homopotent. Yes, I know.

God: *invisibly upset* I came to remind you of your battle against Goliath. How are you preparing yourself?

David: Man, I nor wan go war. I nor even know this Gorilla guy.

God: Goliath.

David: Go-liar. I nor know am and I nor wan fight am.

God: It's too late and you might not want to anger me. Remember that I have the habit of killing millions and millions of people just to get one person to do what I want.

David: So, why you nor kill Godzilla yourself?

God: Because sometimes I like to see humans kill other humans. *clear mighty voice* Anyway I came to show you some interesting weapons that you could use to defeat the enemy and make me orgasm in paradise.

*David scoffs in surrender*

God: So, you can choose among a pulverizer model 2000 and late, a catapult and some stones and the icing on a Nigerian cake.

David: I'm 2000 years too early for a pulverizer and using that icing would be an overkill even for a giant ape. The shit is rock hard. I'll take the catapult.

God: Good. Remember: aim between his eyes.

David: Now, let me go back to bed. I be dey Muslim paradise before you come wake me.

God: Kill Goliath and you won't have to die before you get your own personal harem.

*David smiles mischievously*

And the rest was history.

The End.

GENDER BALANCERS

Nigerian gender equal rights activist: I am not a feminist but I strongly advocate for gender equality because we need to protect everybody's rights: men and women's alike.

Me: No problem. Give me an example of something that the law allows women to do, but doesn't allow men to do.

NGERA: There is none for now.

Me: So, why should gender equality focus on men with the same urgency it focuses on women?

NGERA: So that we can maintain a balance.

Me: What balance?

NGERA: We know feminism is all about female superiority. They want to turn men into cooks and cleaners.

Me: But women have been cooking and cleaning for century. Are you saying that cooking and cleaning are demeaning?

NGERA: No o. it's just that a man is a man and a woman is a woman, and everybody needs to know their place. This is Africa, not Europe or America.

Me: So you just want things to remain how they are right now?

NGERA: I wouldn't say so, but...

----------------------

But that's what they want.

Whether these people like it or not, feminism is here and is here to stay. If you want to fight for rights that men already have, please do. If you want to fight for privileges that men already have, please do.

Just stay out of our way or we will crush you.

I personally don't do Feminism Lite or engage in political correctness. I don't have time to reassure any man that he will still maintain his status even with feminism because he won't. We are fighting to eradicate and eliminate patriarchy, so my dear, your ego is not only the least of my concerns, it is also something that needs to disappear from my sight.

Any woman who also wants to keep condoning nonsense in the name of "choice", should also stay out of my way. You have a good life, a quality education, a husband that does not stress you with archaic bullshit and are raising your daughter to be smart and assertive. God forbid that your daughter becomes obsessed with marriage or religion later in life because that would mean that you have failed as a parent; yet you insist that other women should be allowed to do so.

If this hypocrisy is not disgusting, then I don't know how else to describe it.

As much as I believe that every woman can choose how she wants to live her life, many choices still remain utterly stupid.

In a country like Nigeria, it is stupid to be a non earning housewife. It is stupid to carry marriage, religion, culture or family wahala for head like gala. You are practically digging your grave before your time by doing so.

Those men who want women to still know their place and those women who want to protect the right of women to choose should go and take several seats and let me see road.

I am bitter and a serial wailer. I wail louder than a whale sef.

This is Africa. Mscheeeew.
Women are free to make their own choices. Mscheeeew.

Protector of choices. Protector of rubbish.
You are protecting, but you won't be caught dead engaging in those things.

Protectors my foot.
