MILLENNIALS AND INTERTRIBAL RELATIONSHIPS

Written on 24/09/2020

From what I have seen in these reality series, young Nigerians don't care about tribe when attraction is involved.

A man from one tribe will gladly date a woman from a different tribe and vice versa.

Erica is from Abia.

Nengi is from Bayelsa.

Kidd is from Benue.

Ozo is from Imo.

Laycon is from Lagos

Etc..

All these people are from different states and almost all are from different tribes, and yet they all fell in crush among themselves.

It seems that tribalism is being pushed by our older generation. The mothers and fathers of current millennials. They are the ones that foster tribal division among us, constantly reminding us that ours is better than theirs.

The worst part is that many millennials are falling for this brainwashing and now that they are parents themselves, they will eventually teach their own children to seek tribal unity over national unity.

It's a messy and vicious circle. And we need to do our part in breaking it.
