When I wrote the series about relationship dynamics and the distribution of power between couples, I mentioned that not only does the better looking partner direct the relationship, but that in general, people do not care about your character if you are good looking and well to do.
People disagreed with me, including a friend.
But the truth remains that people will often ignore that you are a horrible human being if you have good looks and plenty money.
Let's take CeeC for example.
Cee C is not rich, but she has the looks. She is fashionable and many men and women also find her desirable. After the show ended, many people forgot all the things that she had done while she was in the Big Brother House because they were mesmerised by her looks and her fashion sense. I myself have admitted that she is the best dressed among all the housemates.
However, the reunion resuscitated memories that we would have preferred to remain buried. Even with all the criticism that she received, fans were still posting her pictures all over Facebook and praising her.
Note that this post is not about this particular woman. This post is meant to buttress an unpopular opinion that I had expressed, which turned out to be correct.
If Cee C had been some ugly chick, nobody would even entertain her. People would diss her and exacerbate her flaws by constantly making reference to her looks.
"As you nor even fine, she nor fit respect yourself?"
The truth is, nobody really cares about character. Character is a luxury. It's expensive to have and it's expensive to get. Life is costly enough; nobody wants to waste time with values that are expensive to maintain.
I keep telling people "The world is shallow", but somehow they still disagree. But let me ask you, if the world was not shallow, why would certain people be around in the first place?
