WHY MEN FIND IT HARD TO FORGIVE A CHEATING PARTNER

"He cheated on me, I forgave him. I cheated on him, he left me".

We have wondered over and over again why men find it difficult to forgive a woman who cheated on them. After all, it was just a mistake, yet they regard it as such when a woman does the cheating. Their justification for this double standard is: "A man cheats with his dick, while a woman cheats with her heart".

By attaching emotions to the woman's action, not only does it aggravate her position, but it also alleviates the man of a 'superficial' mistake. But the truth is that men don't see cheating the way women see it. While the latter think cheating is a form of temptation only a few men can resist, the former uses cheating as a form of control in his relationship.

Let me break it down. There are three major forms of control: physical power, financial power and sexual power. The need to have one control or the other is inherent in our nature. We are either gathering armies and weapons, looting and invading other countries, or imposing ridiculous rules over people's relationships and marriages. We can observe this phenomenon on a global level, among countries, and we can also observe in within a country and her society.

When it comes to the relationship between a man and a woman, a man can choose to exercise either one or two or even all of these forms of control: he can either use his physical strength to over power the woman, use his money or use sex.

Let's talk about sex in particular.

While majority of women see withholding sex as a form of control, men see engaging in as much sexual intercourse as possible as theirs. They confide in the competitive nature of women to keep them interested and more desperate to be their favourite one. And, guess what? It works most of the time. So when a man cheats he is not just wasting his time chasing skirts, he is trying to make a point, state his position as the one in charge of the relationship.

CHEATING IS RARELY A MISTAKE AND THERE IS NO DEVIL AT WORK.

You can't pray for a cheating man to stop, because that would be like the UN pressurising the USA to reduce their nuclear weapons or number of soldiers. They can't because that's where their power lies, and they won't give it up for anybody or let anybody surpass them. With that same logic, a man does not want his woman to overthrow him as the leader in the relationship.  A woman who cheats is basically challenging them. The cheating is not what hurts men the most. Instead it is the idea that he as a man is not good enough.

Of course, this is my personal opinion, so if you disagree, it is fine.
