You see the way these Nigerian men treat women like cheap commodities? It is disgusting and most importantly it is unfair.
We can no longer sit by and watch these men continuously disrespect us by threatening to return us to our father's house. Some of these women were not even living with their parents when they got married. Some own the house they lived in and some others own the house over which the man is now claiming ownership by the virtue of marriage.
We all agree that men are the cause of most failed marriages in Nigeria. They will do all sorts of shit, then turn around to blame the woman. Even in the case of a divorce, the man will still have the nerves to blame the woman for not having endurance. And his stupid family and her even stupider family will join him to press the poor woman's head.
Chai, women have suffered.
We have suffered so much that some women are now calling for blood. They read that a woman has murdered or brutalised her cheating or abusive husband and they give her kudos.
Men, una see una self? Your death nor dey pain anybody. Na only una family e dey pain. I know a lot of men who could die today and nobody, except their family would shed a tear for them. It is that bad. Even their wives would be happy that they are dead.
I have read of men being maltreated by their wives while they lay almost dead on a hospital bed.
"Won't you beat me again? Come and beat me now".
"Useless man, I want to see how you will go and be sleeping around now and infecting me with diseases."
Women are seriously furious and soon the blood of Nigerian men will be worth less than that of a Christmas fowl.
BUT I HAVE A SOLUTION.
Feminists boot camps must be erected all over Nigeria to retrain our men and to save their lives. Because if these men don't change, they are either going to die a violent death or end up in jail for killing their wives. And this re-wiring must start from our divorce court.
Any man that is involved in a divorce case must be sent to a Gender Equality and Conflict Resolution Centre for one year. It doesn't matter if he is the one initiating the divorce or he is the one being divorced. Odikwa compulsory.
If at the end of the course, the man still doesn't show signs of improvement and remains an entitled idiot who thinks women exist to serve him and act as his pleasure tools, he will be granted the divorce. Not so much for him, but for his wife who deserves a better human being as a spouse.
No woman must be returned to her parents like expired goods. The men are the faulty ones, which is why they must be sent to centres where they will be fixed, repaired and rehabilitated.
This revolution has just begun and trust me, either blood or tears must flow.
