How long are we going to keep churning out half baked individuals?
Men who are only taught to be financially responsible, without an iota of senstivity?
Women who are taught to be humanly responsible, without an iota of sensibility?
You might think that this is the best of all combinations but the truth is that it feeds on the misery of both men and women.
Men are struggling to meet up with the huge financial responsibilities, neglecting their own selves. They are becoming more and more apathetic because nobody seems to care about how how they feel or how they struggle to meet up with all the demands.
Women are losing their identities to cater for the wellbeing of everyone but herself. She dare not complain that she's tired and unhappy. How can she think of herself when everybody, including strangers, expect her to think of them first?
Men and women are angry and miserable. We see them everyday on facebook. This society is killing us.
Men are killing women.
Women are killing men.
In the midst of this madness we keep breeding children who will also grow up to be angry and miserable.
Break the chain.
Tell your son that it's OK to work hard and be successful but tell him too that failure is part of the journey. Teach him to ask for help, to cry when he's sad and to rest when he is tired.
Tell your daughter that it's OK to be selfish, to put herself first and to want to protect her outmost possession: her humanity.
Men and women and humans.
Humans are people.
And people feel.
