The events that have been taking place in the last few days have exposed a terrible mentality that afflicts even those women who claim to be for gender equality.
Let's make this clear again because too many people are hard of comprehension: parenting is team work and as long as the father/mother of your child is not dead, they are required by the law to take responsibility for them.
Certainly you can't force a man or a woman to accept a child that they do not want but money wise, it is not up to them.
Now the trend I noticed is that while everyone is lenient with men who leave their wives and kids in Nigeria to travel abroad and make money, and they don't accuse them of being prostitutes or drug dealers; these same people have problems with women doing the same thing.
I maintain that the biological role of a woman as a parent stops being exclusive the moment she gives birth. After that both the father and the mother become responsible for that child. Anyone can stay home, while the other works. It is not written anywhere that a woman has to keep dragging her children everywhere she goes especially when there is a father available to take care of them.
And funny enough the idiots who started this nonsense also have a problem with single parenthood - no, with single motherhood.
A woman can decide to leave a man who is not good enough for her. Why she does it is none of your business. Everybody has their boiling point and if yours extends as far as the morgue, I say good for you. Mine goes as far as slut shaming.
Nobody owes you any explanation as to why they don't want to be with the mother/father of their children. It's not your life and they are not your children. And if you are so concerned, help instead of criticising.
And one last thing: IF YOUR MAMA NA WIDOW, SHE BE SINGLE.
