First of all, being a woman does not make anybody special. When we specify that someone is a woman or a man, we are merely trying to describe the biological functions of that person. If I asked you right now what makes a person a woman, many of you would provide a list of characteristics that mainly focus on her ability to procreate and cater for her offspring and partner. No answer would focus on unique skills like intelligence, smartness, sociability, ambition; because we all know that those traits are not peculiar to women.
Also, many of you women must rid yourselves of your personal bias and look at the bigger picture that the post portrays. You don't like Amanda, but this is not about Amanda. This is about the female folks.
For as long as humanity has existed, there has always been this idea that two women cannot occupy the top spot. The top spot has to be reserved for one woman alone. While men are OK with sharing their spotlight with other men (think of male rappers), women are constantly told that they must cast a shadow on other women to retain the number one spot in a male-dominated world.
Ask yourself, why must it be either Ovaioza or Amanda? Why can't it be both of them? If we consider that both women use social media in very distinct ways, the comparison becomes even more ridiculous.
I have been friends with Amanda for years and I know how she started and worked on her brand to build it to this size. She deserves all the flowers that she is getting.
Social media is wide enough to accommodate as many popular women as there can be. And nobody, especially a man, will ever turn me into one of those women who support the culture of only one queen bee in the hive.
We are not bees, we are humans, and humans are allowed to have equal strength, importance, and relevance.
